Dr. Hala Dabbagh is a licensed Counselor and Marital Therapist with a PhD in Counseling. She received her education through a British high school system and pursued higher education at the American University of Beirut and the University of Jordan. She holds dual Canadian and Jordanian citizenship.
With over 30 years of professional experience, Dr. Dabbagh served as the Head of the School Counseling Department at a leading private school in Amman before transitioning to private practice. Throughout her career, she has specialized in parenting, premarital counseling, and marital therapy, helping individuals, couples, and families navigate life's challenges and strengthen their relationships.
Fluent in both Arabic and English, Dr. Dabbagh combines extensive training in the latest evidence-based Western counseling and psychotherapy approaches with a deep understanding of Arab values, culture, and family dynamics. This unique blend enables her to provide culturally sensitive and effective therapeutic support.
Dr. Dabbagh has actively participated in numerous counseling and psychotherapy workshops, professional training programs, and international conferences in countries including Italy (Sicily), Greece (Athens), the United States (Washington, D.C. and Philadelphia), Turkey (Istanbul), and Jordan, continuously enhancing her expertise and staying current with developments in the field.
One session may last anywhere between 50 mins to one hour and a half , depending on whether it’s an individual’s or couples’ session.
Counseling or Psychotherapy are suitable for you depending on your awareness of your problems and your willingness to cooperate with your counselor or therapist.
A therapeutic relationship is the link that develops between client and therapist. A relationship built on openness , mutual trust, respect, cooperation and confidentiality.
Your therapist will be able to judge approximately how many sessions you will need, depending on the developing process of resolving the issues that you present.
Counseling can help you in understanding and resolving the personal and psychological issues you present, and helps you in accepting and perceiving differently those issues that can’t be resolved. Replacing destructive behaviours feelings and thoughts with more rational constructive behaviours feelings and thoughts.
Yes counseling is confidential unless the client poses danger to himself /herself or others, henceforth responsible others will be notified.
